Tear Catchers

For more than 3,000 years, small, decorative jars have been used to capture the tears of those mourning the death of someone deeply loved. Recognizing that no one or no thing can stop the flow of tears of a grieving family, the "Tear Catchers " program is a parent support group for families who have suffered the loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or newborn death. Support is provided by chaplains, social workers, and other trained healthcare professionals. Discussions include crisis intervention, parent-to- parent outreach, education, and comfort. You will automatically be placed on our mailing list for one year to receive a reminder for support group dates and times if your loss occurred at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. If your loss occurred at another facility and you would like to be placed on our mailing list, please leave a message with Pastoral Care 904.202-2828.

The support group meets on the first Monday of each month from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Ronald McDonald House. The House is down the street from Wolfson Children's Hospital across the street from Nemours Children's Clinic. The address is 824 Children's Way. During the months of November and December, due to the holidays, meeting dates and times may vary. Please call 904.202.2240 to verify the date and time.
