UF Pediatric Cardiovascular Center Affiliated with Wolfson Moves to Aetna Bldg.
Jacksonville, Florida, October 30, 2008 -- Pediatric cardiology patients now enjoy a more spacious new facility since the University of Florida Pediatric Cardiovascular Center affiliated with Wolfson Children's Hospital moved from their previous location at 1443 San Marco Blvd to Suite 100 in the Aetna Building at 841 Prudential Drive.
The new clinic will allow patients, doctors and staff closer proximity to Wolfson Children's Hospital. The clinic opened to patients on November 3.
"Being across the street from the hospital allows easy access to ancillary services like Radiology and Laboratory at Wolfson Children's Hospital," says pediatric cardiologist Jose Ettedgui, MD, medical director of the UF Pediatric Cardiovascular Center and the C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry Children's Heart Center at Wolfson. "Our ability to provide care will be enhanced by a pleasant and comfortable environment where all components of pediatric cardiology evaluation can be accessed in an efficient manner."
The new clinic is also more functional. "The space at the Aetna Building is beautiful," says Dr. Ettedgui. "The design is very functional and child-family friendly." The new clinic features more exam rooms and increased space in testing areas for staff.
"The move occurred to allow for growth of the program and greater efficiencies in seeing patients," says Stephen Ulbricht, administrative director for the Children's Heart program at Wolfson. "The planning for this new beautiful facility is an excellent example of continued efforts to improve the joint program between the University of Florida and Wolfson Children's Hospital."
