Getting help with your car seat in Northeast Florida
When you become a new parent, there are so many things to learn; some of the information can be quite confusing and challenging! This is especially true of picking out the right car seat for your new arrival, and then making sure it is installed correctly in your vehicle.
Children have a way of outgrowing that infant seat quickly; soon you are out looking for the next car seat and later on a booster seat for each of your children. This can be an enterprise that lasts until your children are 10-12 years old.
Fortunately for parents in the Greater Jacksonville area, Safe Kids Northeast Florida, led by THE PLAYERS Center for Child Health at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, is dedicated to helping parents and caregivers of children of all ages with any of their child passenger safety needs. Experienced, certified child passenger safety technicians conduct free car seat checks every week at the Safe Kids Buckle Up™ Inspection Station, supported locally by a grant from CSX and nationally by GM Foundation.
The seat checks are free of charge and made by appointment only. Additional community seat checks are conducted once a month at Destination Maternity at St. Johns Town Center and in Fleming Island at the Baptist Clay Medical Campus. For dates and times and to make an appointment, call 904.202.4302.
