JACKSONVILLE, Fla., November 22, 2010 – The Allstate Foundation (TAF) will grant five organizations $10,000 each to support their community service efforts and further their commitment to serving First Coast residents. Jacksonville-based Allstate Workplace Division (AWD) recommended the following local organizations for grant funding: Baptist Health Foundation on behalf of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Hubbard House, Quigley House, Family Foundations and The SELF Movement.
“Together with The Allstate Foundation, we are building relationships with local non-profits that are providing essential services to the people of Northeast Florida,” said David Bird, president, Allstate Workplace Division. “We recommended these organizations because of their commitment to making our community a better and safer place to live.”
Each organization will dedicate their funds to resources and services that address key social issues.
Baptist Health Foundation on behalf of Wolfson Children’s Hospital
Funds designated to advancing mental health services for children who witness domestic violence.
Hubbard House
Grant provides for the immediate safety needs of abuse victims & their children, educates, supports & promotes community awareness about domestic violence and it’s far reaching effects in Duval and Baker counties.
Quigley House
Funding helps provide crisis intervention, temporary shelter, protection, counseling, community education and prevention programs to stop domestic abuse and adult sexual assault in the Clay County Area.
Family Foundations
Grant funding will build Financial Health for low and moderate income families by providing them with tools and skills to successfully manage a monthly budget by maximizing the benefits of their income, saving for the future and anticipating fiscal roadblocks.
The SELF Movement
Grant money helps fund community service projects and college scholarships for high school students to take control of their lives and experience the meaning of “giving back”.
Allstate Workplace Division, based in Jacksonville, serves employees of more than 30,000 companies with universal life, term life, disability income, cancer, accident, heart and stroke, critical illness, hospital indemnity, vision and dental insurance. More than 31,000 agents are licensed to sell American Heritage Life workplace and direct products.
