Tear Catchers’ annual pediatric remembrance ceremony honors children lost too soon

Tear Catchers’ annual pediatric remembrance ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 7 for parents who have experienced the loss of a child through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or newborn death or those who have lost an older child. Tear Catchers is a support group program at Wolfson Children’s Hospital that provides parent-to-parent support led by chaplains and other trained health care professionals. This annual event has been held for families for more than a decade.

The remembrance ceremony will begin at 2pm and will take place on the second floor of the Aetna Building in the Currents Riverview Bistro at 841 Prudential Drive, across from Wolfson Children’s Hospital. Signs will direct guests to the parking area. Participants are encouraged to bring a few small photos of their child to use to create a holiday keepsake and for a photo board display, and also to email a photo to be included in a slide presentation. The event will conclude with a special ceremony and dove release. Light refreshments will be served.

The event is free and open to the public. To RSVP, please contact Linda Rosengren with Pastoral Care at 904.202.2240 or email Linda.Rosengren@bmcjax.com. This event is jointly sponsored between Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Baptist Health.
