Art with a Heart for Children
"Healing children's bodies and spirits through art."
Art with a Heart for Children provides ill and injured children at Wolfson Children's Hospital with a personalized fine art experience that enhances the healing process and brings joy and hope to patients and their families. Our patients' donated artwork is showcased throughout Wolfson Children's Hospital, Nemours Children's Clinic and a traveling exhibit is displayed at locations throughout Northeast Florida.
What does the program offer?
Five days a week, the resident artists, interns and volunteers transform our hospital rooms into an interactive art studio. Art sessions are conducted with patients in dialysis, oncology, pediatric intensive care, the Behavioral Health Unit and the Children's Emergency Center.Visiting Artists
Recognized community visiting artists share their talents and volunteer their time once a month by conducting a hands-on workshop, which provides the children with the opportunity to work in various artistic media.Partnership with UNF
Art with a Heart for Children created a partnership with the University of North Florida Fine Arts Department to establish an Independent Study program. This educational experience exposes college students to the "art" of healing in a health care facility. Our Staff
