Our radiologists and technologists at Wolfson Children's Hospital are trained and experienced in pediatric procedures, including digital fluoroscopy, routine radiology, orthopaedic exam and ultrasound.
Our professionals also perform pediatric MRIs and MRAs, CTs using the state-of-the-art 64-channel CT scanner, ultrasounds, nuclear medicine and interventional procedures at Wolfson Children's Hospital.
Children are receiving CT scans more comfortably at Wolfson Children's Hospital and their doctors can give a faster and more accurate diagnosis because of our state-of-the-art CT imaging system from GE Healthcare. Called the LightSpeed® VCT, it is the world's first Volume Computer Tomography (VCT). The machine offers an innovative way for pediatric radiologists to obtain the information they need to diagnose disease and life-threatening illnesses.

Wolfson radiologists are able to perform a whole body scan in 10 seconds, more than twice as fast as conventional CT scanners. The speed is especially helpful in shortening breath holds for pediatric patients, especially those who are on ventilators.
Pediatric radiologists are able to to perform CT scans with little or no sedation, which is safer for children; enhanced imaging also provides more information and less radiation, while utilizing less contrast media.
In a single rotation, the scanner creates 64 high-resolution anatomical images as thin as a credit card. These images are combined to form a three-dimensional view of the patient's anatomy for the physicians at Wolfson to analyze. From these images, physicians can view such things as the motion and pumping action of the patient's heart.
Wolfson was the first hospital in the area to offer this medical technology exclusively for children.
