The Department of Pediatric Imaging at Wolfson Children’s Hospital is an exclusive pediatric imaging facility. Children are our specialty. They are not just small adults. Their bodies, disease process and needs require special expertise. We have a team of pediatric radiologist (radiologists with additional training in childhood anatomy and diseases), and technologists who work together to obtain the best possible and most appropriate images for an accurate diagnosis.
We understand the safety concerns regarding radiation dose and medical imaging. We are committed to using the lowest radiation dose possible to obtain diagnostic images. Our staff participates under the guidelines of the Image Gently Campaign which encourages the use of child size protocols and imaging with the lowest radiation dose possible. For more information visit the Image Gently Campaign.
The Pediatric Imaging Department offers imaging in all of the following areas:
Many general x-rays are done on a "walk-in" basis and do not need to be scheduled. These include such x-rays as chest, hands, feet, sinus, etc. Appointments for CT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and fluoroscopy require and appointment and must be scheduled.
