We are able to offer this program at a reduced rate and do not bill insurance. Let’s Get it Write! Handwriting Club is a self-pay program only. Question: What happens if my child misses a class? Do you give refunds?
- Answer: We regret that we are unable to provide make-up classes UNLESS it is the fault of Wolfson Children’s Rehabilitation Services. If we are required to close the clinic unexpectedly due to weather or are unable to find coverage for a therapist who has called in sick, we will extend the program out for an additional class at the next date/time that your child’s class would meet. If your child misses a class due to illness, a conflicting appointment, or vacation, we cannot schedule a make-up class.
We are happy to discuss with you what topics and activities will be covered and homework your child would be expected to complete during those missed classes.
We do not offer refunds for missed classes.
-
Question: I’m interested in having my child participate. What do I need to do?
-
- Call the Wolfson Children’s Rehabilitation clinic nearest you to schedule a screening. Based on the results of the screening, the therapist will make specific recommendations for your child. Screenings are $30.
Downtown (Drew Bradbury Center): 904.346.0394
Mandarin: 904.292.1808
Beaches: 904.627.2980
Fleming Island: 904.215.3324
- Payment of the class fee is required to reserve your child's "spot" in our class. Payment is due 2 weeks before the session starts.
-
Question: My child’s class was cancelled, why?
- Answer: In order to offer the reduced rate for the Let’s Get it Write! Handwriting Club, we need to have a minimum number of students enrolled in each class. It is possible that a class will be cancelled if there are not enough participants.
-
Question: What is involved with the screening?
- Answer: The screening for the Let’s Get it Write Handwriting program is a quick assessment of how your child writes and what problems he or she may be experiencing.
-
Question: Why do we need a screening?
- Answer: The screening is required to make sure that your child is placed into the most appropriate class. Our classes are not separated by grade levels, but by the child’s ability level.
-
Question: How long will the Screening take?
- Answer:The screenings generally take only 20-30 minutes.
-
Question: How much does the screening cost?
- Answer:The cost of the screening is $30. This fee is waived if you sign up and pay in full for a class on the SAME DAY as the screening.
-
Question: What times are your classes?
- Answer:Class times vary. During the school year, we typically schedule classes from 2-6 pm. During the summer sessions, classes could be scheduled at any time during the day from 8 am to 6 pm.
-
Question: Can I schedule my child’s class at a certain time or for certain days?
- Answer:We attempt to accommodate a child’s and parent’s schedule as best we can, but cannot guarantee specific days and/or times for the classes.
-
Question: If I have 2 children in your program can they be in the same class or have classes scheduled on the same day and time?
- Answer:Children are placed into classes based on their specific needs. If your children’s needs differ, we must recommend placement that is most beneficial for each child. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that their classes will be on the same days or scheduled back-to-back.
-
Question: Why aren’t there more options for class times?
- Answer:Our class schedule is based on demand. We require a minimum number of students in each class. If the days or times that are most convenient for you are not available at the clinic closest to you, please consider attending a class at one of our other clinics. We offer the “Let’s Get it Write” Handwriting club classes in 3 of our 4 clinics including the Downtown facility, the Beaches facility and the Fleming Island facility.
-
Question: Why isn’t a class offered for my child’s level for this session?
- Answer:As noted above, our class schedule is based on demand. We require a minimum number of students in each class. If a class is cancelled, we will cheerfully refund your money for this session and contact you to see if you are interested in having your child attend a future session.
