When your child is diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes the Northeast Florida Pediatric Diabetes Center is here to provide you and your child with education about diabetes and diabetes management for optimal care.
The Northeast Florida Pediatric Diabetes Center, a partnership between Wolfson Children's Hospital and Nemours Children's Clinic, and is the only center of its kind in the area. Our multidisciplinary team includes certified diabetes educators, registered nurses, registered dieticians and pediatric endocrinologists – physicians specially trained in the management of diabetes and diabetes-related problems in children. Working together with a team for diabetes care management helps achieve the best results.
We offer a full range of diagnostic, treatment and consulting services for children and adolescents, including:
Diabetes care is always tailored to best meet individual needs. Type 1 diabetes is always treated with insulin as well as a healthy lifestyle. Type 2 diabetes may be treated with insulin and/or a combination of oral medication, healthy eating and physical activity.

No one is turned away from the Pediatric Diabetes Center who needs help. We are funded, in part, by Children's Medical Services, which provides children with special health care needs with a family-centered, managed system of care.
