The Women's Board of Wolfson Children's Hospital is a volunteer organization of nearly 400 members whose mission is to further community awareness of Wolfson Children's Hospital's services and facilities and to raise money to ensure the finest pediatric health care is available. Each year, The Women's Board produces two major fundraisers: the Art & Antiques Show and the Florida Forum, which are two of Jacksonville's most popular cultural events. Currently, proceeds from these events support a 5-year, $4 million pledge to fund the Larry J. Freeman Behavioral Health Center. Named by The Women’s Board to honor the Hospital’s recently retired Administrator of 34 years, this facility will treat children facing complex medical issues and psychological concerns and will house the only truly comprehensive children’s behavioral health program in our region. To date, The Women's Board has raised more than $21 million for Wolfson Children's Hospital for medical and surgical services and equipment.
The Art & Antiques Show highlights antique furnishings, decorative accessories, fine art, collectibles, rugs and jewelry from approximately 50 top antiques dealers from around the country. The event, held annually at the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center, begins with a black tie Benefactor Preview Reception and Opening Night Party on Thursday evening. Nationally-renowned interior designers and event and floral designers give lectures throughout the weekend. Saturday’s Children’s Fashion Show, featuring current and former patients of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, is an attendee favorite. Other event highlights include the Tea Room, Pastry Café and a Sunday Jazz Brunch.
